In 1997 M. Vänçi and Cat Schick started this project.
ATC'S are a variation on the well known moviestar- and automobilecard wich in the past were found in packages of chewing gum or sigarettes and were eagerly traded.
In this case they are produced bij artists and have to be traded aswell.
ARTIST TRADING CARDS are miniature works of art created on 2 ½ X 3 ½ inch or 64 X 89 mm card stock.
They can be originals or small editions.
On the backside they have to be signed and/or numbered.
Since 1997 several hundred people from all over the world have traded ATCs during TRADING SESSIONS, through Mail or by participating in COPY-LEFT EDITIONS and SISTER TRADING CARDS (STC) EDITIONS.
